ON AUGUST 18TH & 19TH 2018 WE CAME TOGETHER AS PEOPLE.
WATCH:  PEOPLE ★ A MUSIC FILM BY VINCENT MOON

This time 200 artists created across 30 Studios and performed across 8 stages at the historic Funkhaus in Berlin. Once again, all artists met one week prior to Discover new Music and engage with each other. PEOPLE is non-hierarchical. It is put together by the artists with full freedom. There are no sponsors or brands. No line up. No artist fees. 100% of the ticket costs went towards the production. From here we move on and spread out, taking the ideas to and with new places and people. In many shapes and forms.
Thank you all for being with us, may what was found light the way. Here is a glimpse at what happened.

THE PRESS SAYS

“WHO WANTS TO HEAR, HAS TO FEEL. EVERYONE LIKES TO SAY THAT THEY WANT TO MAKE THE WORLD A MORE CREATIVE AND THEREFORE BETTER, FREER PLACE. BUT ONLY PROJECTS LIKE THIS REALLY TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, BECAUSE THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND FREEDOM AS A NOUN, BUT AS A VERB, AS A CONTINUOUS, REAL FULFILLING, SOCIAL ACTIVITY.” — SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG

“MUCH OF THIS CONCEPT RUNS COUNTER TO THE LOGIC OF MODERN MUSIC EVENTS – BASICALLY THE ENTIRE MUSIC INDUSTRY – THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO DESCRIBE THIS IDEA, THE MODEST ONE IS THAT PEOPLE’S MAKERS WANT TO CHANGE THE WAY WE LISTEN TO MUSIC AT FESTIVALS – MORE FEEL, LESS CONSUMPTION, THE OTHER, THE MORE AMBITIOUS ANSWER: THEY WANT TO START A SMALL REVO- LUTION. THE MICHELBERGER FESTIVAL WAS A WORKING TITLE, PEOPLE IS THE NAME OF A BIGGER IDEA.”
— MUSIKEXPRESS

“PEOPLE IS A CULTURE SHIFT; A POST-CAPITALIST, POST-SOCIALIST MANIFESTO FOR PATIENCE AND SUR- PRISE. IT IS A NON-PROFIT SPACE WHERE ARTISTS ARE INVITED TO PER- FORM NEW AND UNTESTED MATERIAL, TO EDIT AND REWORK AWAY FROM ASSESSMENT.” — LOUD & QUIET

PEOPLE WROTE:

“…I could go on and on about all the amazing shows I’ve seen at PEOPLE, but in the end no words can make you feel what I felt, so I’ll just leave it here and hope you got a slight idea about how beautiful this weekend was….” (Full Text)

“…You leave, exactly the same person who entered. But somehow more beautiful, somehow more ready, and somehow able to fly…” (Full Text)
